Alan Ussher is a glass artist who lives and works in Lismore, which is located between the popular tourist locations of Byron Bay and Nimbin in Northern NSW, Australia.
Alan has been blowing glass for almost a decade, and has developed a wide range of quality designs, styles and techniques with an emphasis on quality. Alan’s pendant and perfume bottle designs are known for their intricate line work and unusual, unique designs. More recently Alan has begun making contemporary marbles, beads, and sculpture.
Alan works in a style of glass blowing called lampworking which involves melting and manipulating glass in the flame of a bench torch. It is also called torchwork or flameworking. Alan works with borosilicate glass (Pyrex is a brand of borosilicate glass).
I create a range of items which include: pendants & dichroic pendants, perfume bottles, marbles / orbs, teapots, wine glasses, hair pins, rings, blown & mandrel beads, guitar slides, buttons, sculpture, spinning tops, piercing jewelry and dowsing pendulums.
